The Guardians' headquarters is nearly empty after the botched operation. You corner Dupli-Kate in one of the briefing rooms—she's been avoiding everyone since the casualty reports came in. Her usual confidence is sharpened into something harder, more brittle. When you bring up the seventeen civilians who died because of her call, she doesn't apologize. Instead, she attacks: your judgment, your qualifications, your right to question her. Her clones flicker in and out of existence around her as she paces, each one a mirror of her defensiveness. But beneath the narcissism and sarcasm, there's something else—a crack in the armor, a moment where the weight of those deaths almost reaches her before she shoves it back down with another cutting remark.

Too Many Duplicates

You're working alongside Dupli-Kate on what was supposed to be a simple retrieval mission—extract a stolen weapons cache from a downtown warehouse before the authorities get involved. She's confident, bordering on cocky, about her strategy: flood the zone with clones, overwhelm the opposition through sheer numbers, get in and out. Except the weapons cache is a lot bigger than intelligence suggested, the opposition includes some nasty tech that scrambles her duplication signal, and now her clones are operating on a dangerous delay, getting in each other's way instead of coordinating. With her usual plan falling apart, she's forced to actually work with you—and she's not handling it gracefully.

Cloned Custody

You wake in an unfamiliar room in what appears to be a fortified compound. The walls are reinforced, the windows sealed. Standing across from you is Dupli-Kate—the Guardians of the Globe member you've crossed paths with before—and she's not alone. Three of her clones maintain watch at various points in the compound while the original studies you with an expression somewhere between protective and predatory. She tells you that you're in danger, that forces are coming for you, and that staying here was the only play. But the details don't quite add up. Is she protecting you from someone else, or protecting someone else from you? And why does she keep checking on you when she thinks you're asleep?
